Bring and Buy Sale at 2016 AGM venue

NAGNAG and Newport MRS will be running a Bring and Buy stall concurrently with the AGM. Scalefour Society members are welcome to offer relevant goods for sale.

The Entry Form (with conditions for participation) can be obtained from me (at rod@brodawel.net) in electronic form,or on the day.

Re: Type of track ballast

We've used chinchilla dust on Little Mill Junction, held with PVA and have experienced severe cracking resulting a most unprototypical appearance . Has anybody else experienced this and how does one avoid it please?

Googling GWR 56xx and selecting 'Images' gives a number of decent pics.

Show us the before and after when you get there please.

Sorry, not much a view of the floor but I thought this image taken from a 1955 film was a good illustration on a coal wagon interior. And shows what a challenge we have.

Re: P4 vs S4 - Pro's and con's

For what it's worth i built Llanastr to S4 standards and people will be able to see how well/badly it runs at next year's AGM. Most of my modelling now is for the Newport MRS Little Mill Junction which is being built to P4 standards and, in it's foetal state, will also be at next year's AGM. See lin...

Re: Newport MRS - NAGNAG Open Day Saturday 7th March 2015

To remind people what the P4 in A4 is - it is a P4 challenge to put a micro-layout into a foolscap box. The rules are quite simple: 1. The layout has to be transported to the club in a foolscap folder box with the lid closed and meet the outside dimensions of 75H x 375W x 245D mm. 2. P4 standards ap...

Due to unforeseen circumstances Maindee East will not be at this year’s Open Day. Instead, and a short notice, Bernie Baker has agreed to bring Allt-y-Graban Road ( http://www.scalefour.org/shows/S4SW2011/allt-y-graban.html ). This being an Open Day rather than an exhibition Bernie will be instigati...

Re: A Few thoughts on Control to help a Newbie

I didn't know you could switch a loco between DC and DCC. Tim, It may not apply to all decoders but all that I have come across allow you to select whether the decoder responds to a DC final or not. I can understand that you may not be able to commit to a club (or S4 Area Group) but if you can find...

Le Corbusier – cool name BTW One consideration not aired yet is what do the other modellers you are in contact with use? As a new starter you may want to run your newly-built locos on their layouts and/or test your track with someone else’s locos. If you choose DCC you can set your locos to run on D...

Yes, it's an easy walk Dave. If you leave the station at the southern side (city centre), turn left into Queensway. Just before you get to the old station building (now the Information Station) cross the road, turn left and immediately right into the old Station Approach. At this point you will be f...

A very diverse, imaginative and impressive selection they proved to be and pictures and notes can be found on the Newport MRS site ( http://www.newportmrs.co....
