AJ and Buffer Height Gauge

Does anyone know if this gauge, produced by Morgan Gilbert in 2008, is still available and if so where from? It was a brass etch which folded up and could be formed for use in OO, EM or P4.

Re: Coach Rake Couplings

Are your coach sets kept on your track or removed for storage etc? Mine have to be taken on and off tracks and being able to just push coaches together to couple with Kaydees is a great advantage. I don’t worry about pipe work as it’s mostly under the corridor connection and like couplings not very ...

Re: Coach Rake Couplings

I cut off the uncoupling tails so no magnetic effect on the Kaydees.

Re: Coach Rake Couplings

On Bulleid coaches have successfully used Kaydee couplings under Keen corridor connections.
Easy to couple and uncouple.

Re: SR Couplings for non-corridor coaches

I agree with Noel re use of SR stock on this line other than corridor stock on through Cardiff - Portsmouth trains where locos seldom worked right through, being changed at Salisbury. On no occasion did I ever see birdcage stock used on ex LSWR routes as a regular occurence. A nice thought but unlik...

Re: Alex Jackson couplings and Brassmasters CCUs

I have successfully fitted AJs to these bogies using a pivotted system. Two additional holes are drilled at the inboard end of the centre U piece to take a pivot wire on which a length of tube fits across the U. To this is soldered, bogie pivot side, a 12 mm length of fine tube ID to fit AJ wire, po...

Jane was the only lady there at the inaugural meeting and yes the long line to sign up didn't quite keep in alphabetical order!

Re: Scaleforum I have known

Re the 1979 photos. In #1 it is Ken York to the right of Bob Essary's head and again in #3 it is him again at the back in the same jacket, tie and handkerchief. That was his standard exhibition outfit and typical stance. In #2 Bryan Popkin is to the left of Steve Stratton. Phillip has forgotten that...

Keen Systems produce GWR corridor connections which are lightly sprung and should be suitable.

Re: Hornby Maunsell Coaches

Hi Steve,
Apologies for delay. Coaches successfully converted . Will bring to Scaleforum and we can confer then. Used EM sheet method and changed wheels to P4.
Fitted Keen corridor connections and modified Branchline AJ fittings. See you on St. Merryn.

Hornby Maunsell Coaches

Advice needed on removal of bogies, brake gear etc to enable fitting of P4 wheels. It all looks rather fragile! All clues very welcome.

Thanks BKP
