Re: Alpha Mill

Just measured some offcuts of the wooden "launders" that used to adorn our house - 5.75" x 2.75" with a 3.125" wide semi-circular milled out channel. The back has a right-angle to the bottom while the front has a rounded corner to the bottom. I got fed up with trying to keep...

Re: New 4mm Scale Deltic from Accurascale

No doubt it will stop at model train stations on owners' layouts and even more purists will immediately be incandescent and fill the forums with their annoyance. My point is, "Did you know what they meant?" I'm all for accuracy of the type espoused by Jol but is it really worth while letti...

Re: RTR EM Gauge Track from Peco.

Can't help wondering if the Society's powers that be have made contact with Peco or will now make contact with Peco to get equivalent products to P4 standards. After all, there's lots of members' funds stashed away in the Society's bank account and why not at least find out how much investment it wo...

Re: Scaleforum North 2018

Another excellent show! Well done to the organisers and what a pleasure to see so many old friends and acquaintances.

Now to remember all the promises I made to send information, drawings or whatever to various people!

Cheers,

Many thanks - clearly I should have looked right under my nose! That may well do. Does anyone have any dimensions for this rail?

Steel Code 60 Flat Bottom Rail

Does anyone know of a source for such rail? Steel (actual or in appearance) much preferred as this is to be conductor rail alongside steel running rail.

I've Googled without success so wondering if anyone knows of a supplier.

TIA,

Apologies for not attending from me. Our village is holding a picnic as part of the Great Get Together in memory of Jo Cox, the MP who was tragically killed just before the referendum last year, and that's where I shall be. I hope the meeting goes well and wish all attending a happy day because ther...

Re: Britannia driving wheels from Ultrascale

I think it's as well to remember that Brian Rogers is, by some distance, now past retirement age (whatever that is nowadays) and David Rogers, as far as I am aware, probably wouldn't do any of the machining necessary to make moulds for new Ultrascale driving wheels. I suspect unless existing moulds ...

Re: Stanier brake van chassis

I spoke to Jim on the phone this afternoon and he told me the relevant moulds had been consigned to oblivion some time ago so no joy there. If anyone else has any ideas, please let me know. The original chassis (of the Airfix/Hornby) model has the stepboards moulded integrally with the axleboxes so ...

Anyone know where I can obtain axleboxes and springs to complement the Bill Bedford Stanier brake van chassis kit? I've just trawled all the way through Supplier.txt without seeing what I'm seeking so any help will be greatly appreciated.

When I eventually succumbed to the need for reading glasses, I found that buying several pairs of cheap ones to be the best way of preventing the (relatively) expensive prescription ones getting messed up when modelling or doing DIY or even, as now, using my PC. I also have a magnifying fluorescent ...

Nothing to do with the organisers but the journey from home near Chesterfield down the M1 southwards on Saturday was dire. Long stretches of 50 mph restrictions with Gatso cameras measuring average speed to raise one's blood pressure and then warnings that Junction 14 was causing delays. This proved...

If it is flat bottomed, it could be suitable for turntables.

And there we had better leave it or the serious minded folk who compose the erudite notes we read on this topic will shortly be as frustrated as you appear to be . . .
