Re: Rivet Press 2

The Stores listing states that the Press Tool, combined Punch & Rivet tool, although out of stock, is occasionally available second hand from the stores. Please enquire.

Worth contacting Jeremy.

Sometimes these also appear on the Bring & Buy at Scalefour North or Scaleforum.

Re: Bill Bedford Coach Bogies

But has anyone encountered the apparent discrepancy in the problem with the brake blocks that I mentioned at the start of this thread? The instructions say virtually nothing about the brakes but there seems to be only one way of making the brake assembies and one way of fitting them, and that leave...

I have two production ones Howard Hi Steve, Many thanks for that - any chance of some nice juicy close ups please? Very interested to see how this technology has come along! Best Wishes, I’ll see what I can do. In the meantime there are some photos on RMWeb taken by customers that may help Howard? ...

Re: Rails of Sheffield/Dapol ex-SECR box van 45374

I have purchased one of these models ofan ex-SECR van. It has been produced by 3D printing. I think it is rather good. Can I just check - have you (or anyone else) physically seen it yet please? EDIT:- ie the production version rather than the pre-production ones Best Wishes, I have two production ...

December 2019 meeting

We held our second meeting on Thursday 5th December 2019. One of our members, Bob, is building a new layout based on the S&D. Bob is a tool maker by trade and he brought along some of the jigs he has made to help in the track building he is undertaking. Bob is using ply and rivet and discussion ...

Re: Rails of Sheffield/Dapol ex-SECR box van 45374

The model comes with AGW wheels in OO. I suggest just swapping the wheels for P4 and seeing if it runs adequately with fixed suspension. I did this with a pre-production sample and it seems OK, but I haven't a proper layout or test-track to really evaluate it. The production team assure me that the...

Re: Jig for drilling crankpin hole

Hi Julian

Have a look at this on the CLAG website http://www.clag.org.uk/crankpin-drilling.html

I’ve used the jig and vertical drill method to drill the crank pin holes in some AG wheels with dimples. It worked ok :thumb

Good luck

The Kent AG have had some 3D printed for Eridge. They are on KAG member Mark Leigh’s Shapeways shop https://www.shapeways.com/shops/p4-models under the title Southern Region Lineside Concrete Fencing. Mark kindly passed on the following info - “There are different materials that it can be printed in...

Masokits Track Defect Detection Vehicle

Has anyone built one of these please? 1D3C0A6F-6FCC-4BE6-A763-A577B4284178.jpeg The kit requires a set of perfectly round and concentric wheels (of course  ) on 2mm diameter axles. I immediately thought of a set of wagon wheels, either Exactoscale * or Ultrascale, but anyone’s recommendations...
