Re: How do I create a sub-forum?

John, I am keen to jump on this band wagon: 1 to bring my threads together as they tend to merge some what... 2 remember that I have already started a thread on the kit I started 3 to 5 years ago, so they can be resurrected! Sorry I seemed to miss this Doug. If you would email me links to the threa...

Re: How do I create a sub-forum?

The On My Workbench forum 'Armchair Modeller' has been removed at the member's request. It was last updated in 2017, and the member indicates they no longer wish to have an area associated with their modelling.

Re: Scaleforum 2020

I don't wish to derail the rather good discussion about options for virtual events, but I will note on this thread that the Scaleforum 2020 exhibition at Stoke Mandeville is cancelled, as announced here.

Re: Scaleforum 2020

I load quite hi-res photos and you can eiether view as is on the page or click on them to see larger lictures and then zoom in to the detail I don’t believe the forum materially processes uploaded images. It simply aims to offer them back to readers as-is. The surrounding forum thread does ask peop...

Re: Scaleforum 2020

Thank you David - it looks like we both posted at the same time. I would still encourage them to keep images to 72dpi and no larger than 1500px wide, fewer pixels if portrait, and a file size of well under 500k. I aimed to keep retrospective images to under 200k each. I think I still hit the upper b...

Re: Scaleforum 2020

Speaking as the current retrospective publisher, I would be very open to someone with a new vision for them taking them on getting in touch. My own goal was to build on David’s excellent work, and focus further on the photography we get of each show. My own vision was to strip back the surrounding i...

Re: How do I create a sub-forum?

Can I jump on the bandwagon of this thread please? ;) I too am taking on the Socially Distanced Challenge and would like a place to document my future shelf-of-shame candidates! yes, of course. Please do start a thread in the main 'on my workbench' forum, and I'll then use that to create your own a...

Re: How do I create a sub-forum?

Thanks Tim. You are correct to surmise that forums need to be created by the moderators. In general, for the benefit of future readers, the best way to start an area in 'on my workbench' is to start a thread in the on my workbench forum, and then ask for it to be moved to a new sub-forum that the ad...

Scalefour Southwest 2020 Cancelled

The organisers of Railwells and Scalefour Southwest have asked me to share that the 2020 show is cancelled. While it is some way off, much of the necessary preparation is now not possible - for example the venue has cancelled all meetings over the next few weeks. This announcement is reflected on ou...

Re: Scaleforum 2019

It seems I allowed a typo to creep into the workshop details, and the price of the Turnout Construction workshop should have been listed as £3 (it was always correct in Scalefour News...). I've also clarified that they need to be booked in advance by contacting Terry. I've only listed an email addre...
