I have a number of coaches using this system. I don't solder the torsion bar anywhere other than the ends. I haven't had a problem soldering the pivots square and the ones I have used aren't stoppping the bogie rotating freely. Most have Gresley whitemetal sideframes which helps nut I have some on s...

My thanks to all who replied - some interesting responses. Having now completed more chassis kits I have found that part of the problem was that the W irons tend to splay outwards.
