Re: A New Home for the Central Cheshire Lines
Hello All. I’m surprised how long it is since I posted anything on here about the railway here. In these difficult times it is good to just set the trains running round and to sit down and watch. I can share this clip with you: https://youtu.be/tqDKnyj81Jo The sidings normally are a lot more full of...

Hi Gordon.
Coming in a bit late on this one. There is interest from me if this kit comes to fruition, to make a model of one of the Florence locos.
This was my "local" line growing up as I lived next to Longton Park and the line from Hem Heath/Trentham to Florence ran past the park.

Hi Jeremy.
I have to say I thought your Railmotor looked terrific in the display case at Scaleforum last weekend.
Can only hope mine will turn out something like that! Cheers

I was tempted to buy one of these at Scalefour North over the weekend.
It does indeed look very nice and I'm looking forward to making a start - but I should finish other things first

Re: Overheating Mashima 1224
I've had problems with Mashima motors overheating, though in my case they were both 14mm motors rather than the 12mm. As a result of this, I always run them in carefully before they are firmly installed in a locomotive. 5 minutes one way light, rest, 5 minutes light the other way, rest and so on.......

Re: Help with a Brassmasters 4F
Hello All. Will L drew my attention to this thread about this 4F kit. It is right I finished off one of these kits for a fellow member of the Crewe Group a few years ago. In fact, it is probably more like 8-9 years ago, time flies. Some of you may have seen the loco running on "Knutsford" ...

At the risk of drifting off topic, I like the SDJR 2-8-0.
I imagine it must have gone to Horwich for overhaul and is on a running in turn....
But seriously, all looking good. John S

Re: GWR Loco Green Pre-1928
To follow on from my note earlier this month. I obtained a jar of Tamiya acrylic deep green. However, on inspection it comes out lighter than the colour swatch would suggest. It is also quite a blue shade of green. I have since discovered Humbrol do a GWR loco green acrylic paint although it is the ...

Re: GWR Loco Green Pre-1928
Thanks for the thoughts. I agree it looks as though the Tamiya Deep Green may be the way to go. There is a aircraft/tanks/ships model shop near here where I should be able to get some. I did look at Vallejo Model Air 71-018 camouflage black green which is possible, but as the name suggests this is v...

GWR Loco Green Pre-1928
This is probably a long shot but.... Has anyone here done any experimenting to see if any of the acrylic range of paint from Tamiya or Vallejo are close to the pre-1928 darker shade of GWR loco green? As an example, XF 61 Dark Green or XF 26 Deep Green in the Tamiya range look as though they might b...

Hello Jeremy.
To add to the above. I have one of these Mallard GWR Railmotors hidden away in a box waiting to be built one day.
The etch you are working on looks splendid.
You can put me down for one of your etchings as well when they become available!
