Re: New 4mm Scale Deltic from Accurascale

probably a naive question ... but aren't there any facsimiles of the original shop drawings available? As I understand it there are 6 locomotives from this class in preservation. If any dimensions are being questioned, is it not possible to take direct measurements from the real thing? (In any even...

Re: New 4mm Scale Deltic from Accurascale

Doesn't your photo prove my point? taking into account the different persepctives, the top of the nose grille on the cad is definitely lower than the top of the actual nose grille. the shoulder grilles also seem to be too low in comparison. Hi Meld, I've been forwarded this response from our design...

Re: New 4mm Scale Deltic from Accurascale

The cab windscreens are to large, the nose grille is too low and looks a bit heavy handed and the bonnet/nose side curves seem to be out as the curve at the nose ends seems to start below the top of the nose grille when it should be above it. Andrew Hi Andrew, Our designer did a quick overlay of so...

Re: New 4mm Scale Deltic from Accurascale

We'd be curious to hear exactly what issues you seem to have found with the CAD Very good to see a representative of the manufacturer commenting on here. All the experts can now feed in their comments. :) Looking at drawings is one thing. Comparing the actual model to pictures or even the real thin...

Re: New 4mm Scale Deltic from Accurascale

The Heljan DP2 suffers from the taper being different between the bonnet sides and the cabs so looks very odd from the front ('light bulb' like!). The Bachmann deltic has issues with the bonnet top and nose as well as printed on detail. However, all this is fixable. There are several issues with th...

Re: Accurascale 24.5t HOP24/HUO hoppers

Hi gents, From talking to modellers who have regauged the hoppers to EM and P4, some have reported no issues while others have had to do some minor fettling to achieve free running. We're at the mercy of manufacturing tolerances on this one, but we're constantly looking at ways to improve things for...

Re: Accurascale 24.5t HOP24/HUO hoppers

Just a quick note to say that the pre-TOPS versions are currently in transit from China. In the meantime, we've opened the order book on the TOPS wagons and the Onllwyn internal user pack: https://accurascale.co.uk/product-category/wagons/ These versions are scheduled to arrive from the factory late...

Re: Accurascale 24.5t HOP24/HUO hoppers

I did indeed invite you at say a few words about what you and Accurascale are doing. And very welcome they are too. Having seen the pre-production sample which Mike had converted at the last Society Committee meeting, it is very impressive. The conversion is indeed as straightforward as could be wi...

Accurascale 24.5t HOP24/HUO hoppers

Hi everyone, Paul Willis encouraged me to post here about this wagon when I was in contact with him just over a month ago, but I'm only getting the time to do so now! :) For those of you who may not be familiar with us, Accurascale is a new entrant into the British-outline RTR market. The project is...
