You'd get some more useful bits for this purpose in the RT Models chassis, but that means having to buy the entire chassis kit.

Re: Show attacked

This will complicate seriously the issue of security at shows. I lived just outside Stamford for 3 years and it had never struck me as a place where this sort of vandalism would ever happen. It sickens me. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/market-deeping-mrc John Not just the security. The in...

Re: Wainwright H Class P4 conversion

I found them near-impossible to disassemble if you get the quartering a bit wrong, as the boss will not let go of the axle... . The original P4(Studiolith) ones have a taper fit between bush and axle, like the flywheel on a Mini or Morse drills in a lathe, the come apart very easily with a sharp ta...

Re: Wainwright H Class P4 conversion

A long time ago at the genesis of P4 the only 5'6" wheel available was actually based on the H class wheel specification. They were made by Studiolith, of not so blessed memory, and on whom Ultrascale had nothing in terms of waiting time. Also they were pretty good products have shouldered axl...

Re: Wainwright H Class P4 conversion

Has anyone attempted to convert the Hornby H Class to P4? I have two Hornby locos of this engine, and a Southeastern Fineccast chassis. To my mind there are two possible solutions. 1. Use the Southeastern Finecast chassis. 2. Use an Alan Gibson Wheel Set for the M7 conversion which has 3mm axles. I...

Sounds like a job for the rolling mill with the rivet-detailed parts protected by thin card to protect them? Can only give it a go and see what happens.

Re: SCC - Sparkshot Custom Creations

On the subject of what is in a kit etc, etched kits come with separate door handles which are not usually overscale so why not printed vehicles? After all, such will require a number of other components, for example grab handles, to complete so why not door handles? Because the whole point of print...

Just received my 1361 kit. Same here. Instructions refer to a pre-rolled saddle tank, but there isn't one 'cos this is strictly DIY.
