Re: The Virtual Scalefour Society Stand

Signing off with another thank you to Danny and all other organisers for an interesting day.
Pat yourselves on the back whilst trying to avoid spilling the beer!

Best,

Bernie

Re: The Virtual Scalefour Society Stand

Wouldn't that have been last night?
Bugle Horn or Bell tonight, perhaps?

Re: The Virtual Scalefour Society Stand

I haven't been completely inactive in recent times. Industrial conversions continue, with 3D printed bodies, a useful addition to the repertoire. 20200813-LRM_20200813_164716.jpg 20200813-LRM_20200813_163657.jpg Both of these, not yet finished, from Hardy's Hobbies, who also do excellent figures. I ...

Re: The Virtual Scalefour Society Stand

"Not the usual methods" also here.
Please ask questions while enoying the day.

Bernie

I'll try again. Didn't seem to post the first time.

Re: Wheels for Peckett B2 conversion (and others)

LRM_20200119_130343.jpg The rather poor photo shows the redismantled model balancing upside down on a torch! Daylight can be seen just to the right of dead centre, i.e no hidden gears. Hattons seem to be quick learners and quite possibly regret the compromise. The wheels look better for the roughly...

Re: Wheels for Peckett B2 conversion (and others)

Slight delay due to checking facts rather than posting rubbish! Dismantled for photos I failed to take at the time. The wheels are all metal with hub insulation (like Romford C&W), so need quartering. They are easily removed. When the total wheel thickness is reduced below about 2.3mm, all detai...

Re: Wheels for Peckett B2 conversion (and others)

That was my initial thought, Philip, but they look a bit thick in some of the photos in the original article.
Slight chamfer, perhaps?

Re: Wheels for Peckett B2 conversion (and others)

Q1. No, I didn't. Yes, I should have. I almost certainly will in future. Q2. No, I didn't. I think the over-simplified description came about as I thought I had achieved the objectives of avoiding pickups whilst leaving enough plastic 'meat'. I seem to have subconsciously forgotten to mention the mi...

Wheels for Peckett B2 conversion (and others)

This is the first thread I have started on the Forum - 3 posts in 6 years otherwise. Embarrassingly, I have to start with a public apology to Mark Tatlow and David Knight. Gents, I am sorry for missing your questions on the Scalefour News 215 thread as I very rarely login. I get almost everything as...

Re: Track cleaning

Hmm. Must have been Thursday I looked in here last. Some of the previous posters will know I am as anti-IPA as TimV is anti-graphite. I saw the MRH article when it came out. I had a printed version of the league table with me at ExpoEM Bracknell last month as an operator on Rod Hall’s Llanastr. Anyo...

Re: Scaleforum 2015

Pleased to see Paul's comments above. It was indeed influenced by the "panel display like used to happen at Leatherhead" It was my first time flying under my own flag. When I arrived on Friday, I had no idea how it was going to be set up. Consequently, at closing time, I had no idea how to...

Re: Scaleforum 2013

A bit slow with this, perhaps, but I’ve not registered on any internet forum before – I’ve only just been ‘activated’. As a first-time Scaleforum exhibitor, I would like to thank everyone for a well organised show. Well done Terry and team. I found the Stewards superbly helpful and encountered no di...
