Re: DEFine Modellers Day 11th Jan 2020
First time I have visited and it was worth the round trip. Good to catch up with a few familiar faces, some from on here. Did any notice the traffic disruption in the area the following day? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-51083607 Love the comment that the contents (Pringles) were ...

Re: Scaleforum 2019
Thoroughly enjoyed the show, worth a long day trip from the NW (though nothing on the 23,00 mile trip). Good to catch up with a few friends. . Stand out for me was Burntisland which was simply breathtaking. Fascinating operation of the train ferry. I enjoyed all of the layouts presented. Well done t...

Re: The Christmas Model Railway Show - Manchester 2018
Very high quality show. My son really liked Pwllheli with structures, stock and operation all catching his eye. Add in Arun Quay and Black Lion Crossing and the hits just kept on coming. The presentation of the peninsular layout Tarring Neville was very imaginative. All in all a great way to spend a...

Re: Scaleforum 2018
I thought that this was the best S4um I have been to. The layouts in particular were excellent and with the no barriers set up it was easy to speak to the owners and operators. Snaffled a few goodies on the bring and buy too. Travel via train was greatly helped by the show guide having local bus ser...

Re: Scaleforum 2018
Pity about the coach not featuring but the economics are plain enough.
I have just booked a return rail ticket to Aylesbury and had the option of adding Plusbus for £2. Covers all the services mentioned in the guide and will get you to the stadium and back.

I managed to find a deal with Virgin Trains for £36 return from Crewe so I'm going. The format and line up looks really good. As I will be on the 1014 arrival at Tolworth please could I have one of the lifts mentioned? My return service departs at 1643. Looking forward to this and meeting more of th...

Re: Scaleforum 2015
My first ever S4um visit and it was a thoroughly enjoyable day out. Great mix of layouts, demonstrations and trade support in a very well lit hall with plenty of seating. The coach transfer from the railway station worked well. Good to catch with friends from far and wide. Thank you to all of those ...

I have followed this thread with interest. So much so, that I have just ordered a log cabin from a company near me who previously supplied us with a bike store and a dog kennel. They have branched out in log cabins and the showroom has a few examples to study.

I would like to my thanks for the organizers of this show, I thought it was very well executed and had an extremely enjoyable day. Good mix of trade support and bought a few items to keep me amused for a while. In my opinion the Bring and Buy hoo-ha is a storm in a teacup and should not detract from...

I went along on Sunday with my youngest son (4). Many thanks to all the exhibitors who chatted to him, pointed out features on their layouts and let him operate the wifi DCC demo. A splendid show all round; big pat on the back to all those who gave their time to put it on.
