(also known as Marches Finescale Group)
The group meets each week on a Monday night in various members houses centered around Ludlow, but stretching as far as Shrewsbury and Hereford. The group consists of between 6 and 12 'regulars' and a number who visit occasionally from as far afield as the Lake District. All meeting locations have working layouts, a majority in P4 but with some in EM, OO and O. All share a common thread of finescale modelling, and members of the group all have this shared interest, together with modelling in other than, as well as, P4.
The group has, over the years, worked on many group projects including making Trackwork, Controllers, RSU's and Locomotives. With around 30 working locomotives of one type or another between the members a wealth of experience has been built up in making running P4 layouts. Helping exhibit Adavoyle (of Tony Miles fame) and Kerrin Basin at various exhibitions led the group to enter the Scalefour 18.83 challenge with a model of the Lower Soudley ironworks in the Forest of Dean, which was 'Highly Commended'.
New members are always welcome - evenings are a pleasant combination of discussion, modelling, running, coffee and cakes.
