Epsom Town Station was located in the now Upper High Street from 1847-1929, run formerly by the LB&SC Railway and then by the Southern Railway from 1923.
The passenger station closed in 1929, with the goods sidings continuing in use as Epsom Goods until 1970 when the whole site was demolished to make way for housing. All that is left now is the Down Booking hall and the layout depicts the twilight months of the station & yard in 1928/9 when electrification and completion of the new Epsom Station caused its demise.
Baseboards are of plywood monocoque construction, and the track is ply & rivet construction.
All of the buildings, signals etc are scratchbuilt using various materials with reference to old photographs and books.
Stock is constructed from both kits and heavily modified ready to run vehicles.
