This hoist is more suitable for a small goods yard than the more common type dropping through a hole in a viaduct to the arches below.

This one was once at the Midland Railway station at Leytonstone in East London.

This photograph appeared in a very interesting article by Bob Essery in Model Railways, October 1993.
