PC37 GWR 'Python' Covered Carriage Truck
These 4 wheeled Covered Carriage Trucks were built by the Great Western Railway in 1914 and lasted in revenue earning service into the early years of British Railways. These were often included in passenger trains and when new were painted chocolate brown with white roofs. The standard vehicles were numbered 561 to 579. No. 580 which was identical externally was specially strengthened so that it could be used to transport circus elephants.
