| PC30 LNER Extra Long CCT (4 wheel) This vehicle was used for carrying, parcels, mails and motor vehicles conveyed by passenger or parcels trains. The first batch was built in 1939 by the LNER and BR put a further batch into traffic in 1950, 117 in all being constructed. The bulk of the fleet survived until the late 1970s. Two examples survive, one being preserved at Monkwearmouth Station Museum, with another having taken a fresh lease of life as part of a BR track testing train. |
