| PC28 BR 12 ton shock absorbing open wagon (diag. 1/050) Built 1955/58, these wagons could be seen with a wide variety of loads, such as glass in crates, barrels of whisky and earthenware pipes. Our model incorporates a tarpaulin rail, which of course can be omitted if necessary and has a body which can move on the chassis as on the prototype. Examples were still in service in the late 1970s, although many survived for longer carrying Engineer's Department spoil, often with the shock absorbing gear removed. | PC29 BR 12 ton shock absorbing van (diag. 1/209) These vans were introduced into traffic in 1953/56 and were heavily utilised until the final decline of traditional merchandise traffic in the late 1970s. As can be seen they are close relatives of our other BR vans. Our models have bodies which can move on the chassis as on the prototype. |
