PC22 BR 16 Ton Mineral Wagon (French Type) Built 1945/6 these wagons were supplied to the French railways to relieve war damage. This work completed, most were repatriated in 1951/2 and saw service on BR until the mid 1960s. The lack of end door and the characteristic cupboard type doors, restricted them chiefly to domestic coal and scrap traffic. They were specifically prohibited from use by the Engineer's department after an accident involving these doors.

PC27 BR 16 Ton Mineral Wagon (Slope sides) Many of these wagons worked on the French railways in the immediate post war period. About 1,900 were assigned to work on the Continent until the early 1950s. A fleet of almost 8,000 operated widely throughout BR until the mid 1960s. Our model gives the modeller the choice of either the original pressed steel side doors or the replacement standard doors, which many sported.

PC31 LNER 21 Ton Steel loco Coal Wagon The LNER favoured large capacity wagons for carrying locomotive coal to their depots. This wagon represents the move to all steel construction in the 1930s. After BR dropped the operation of a seperate fleet of locomotive coal wagons, these wagons were absorbed into the general fleet and continued in use until the middle sixties. Points to note are the lack of end doors, which were not required for the LNER's coaling plants, and the pressed steel cupboard type side doors PC32 BR 21 Ton Mineral Wagon (Rebuilt:  One Side Door) This model represents the final stage of development of the traditional British style of coal wagon. BR had expected an upsurge in coal traffic in the late 1970s and a programme of rebodying coal wagons with worn out bodies was started. Over 900 wagons were involved but most were out of service after the 1984/85 coal strike. The design is unusual in only having one side door on each side and no end door.
