MANVERS STREET GOODS
Bingham Model Railway Club
Manvers Street links Nottingham City Centre and
Sneinton, on one side is the GNR's
London Road Low Level station throat and goods warehouses and on the
opposite
side is the LNWR's goods station.
The layout portrays the vertical relationship between the two companies
goods
facilities but no street between. It is set in the 1923—1928 time
frame
illustrating both pre-group and post group liveries and designs.
The facilities include a cattle dock and coal yard in the GNR level and
a
private siding on the LNWR level as well as sections of the goods sheds.
The layout is designed to be operated by DCC and will consist of
shunting moves;
however rather than just random moves, the operators will have to
despatch
trains in a specified order. Either a computer or manual selection of
cards will
generate this order. The order will be displayed for the public to see.
The stock will be stored on cassettes on shelves for the public to see
above the fiddle yard. The layout will be displayed at a height of
about 4½ - 5 ft.
