HOT WELLS by John Barns
The terminus of the branch from the Clifton Downs extension railway at Sneyd Park. Built in the 1870s into the Avon George near the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Along side is the tramway to Bristol and the the Clifton Rocks Railway. Jointly owned by the GWR and MR, passenger service only, and originally built with a loco turntable.
The line closed officially in 1922 but you know what modellers are! Finally closed by the war when the tunnel was used as a museum store.
