THE SCALEFOUR SOCIETY 18.83 LAYOUT CHALLENGE

Draycott Park Colliery (provisional name)  by  Tony Barnes

Draycott Park Colliery is a fictional location in the southern part of the North Staffordshire coalfield. The period of operation is the 1950s.
Despite the fictional location, it is intended to be as faithful to operations at a typical small pit of the period as is possible given the restrictions of space. The choice of period as the early days of the NCB will, hopefully, allow the use of a variety of locomotives typical of the area including a Garratt, although as in the prototype only one loco may be in steam at any particular time.

Rolling stock will be a mixture of wooden and steel bodied minerals. There will also be a paddy train of ex-mainline stock.
