THE SCALEFOUR SOCIETY 18.83 LAYOUT CHALLENGE |
Clapham Junkyard by Andrew Ockwell
Somewhere in South London in 1959 or 1960,
the former LSWR main line weaves its way between warehouses and mansion blocks
on a viaduct. A few sidings serving a couple of factories are accessed by tracks
passing beneath the main line, whilst various nefarious activities take place in
the occupied arches beneath the viaduct.
Hopefully, a regular stream of trains pass by on the main line, from pickup
goods through suburban emu's to the Atlantic Coast Express (OK, there may only
be four coaches but they'll fill the whole of the visible section), while
intermittent shunting takes place in the foreground. Spam Cans, Nelsons, Arthurs.
