The 21st January saw our first meeting of 2010, with 10 members present and apologies from 3 others.
We had a visitor from near Carlise, Bob Hetherington who brought a couple of his beautiful scratch built, early period models, more of which later. With John James bringing an unusual southern visitor to Preston. As usual much was discussed, including the location and format of the December meeting and if it should be repeated, all agreed 'YES'.
The following picture shows S&D Panther, No. 145 0-6-0, with a long boiler, built by Bouch in 1860 for the Stainmore line hence the larger cab. Showing off Bob's wonderful workmanship.
This view shows a NBR Wheatley Goods 0-6-0 No 415, circa 1870, which has been built for use on the East of Scotland AG layout Burntisland.
Finally our southern interloper, Urie H15 class a commision built by John James, along with some of Anthony Miller's wagons.
The next meeting is Thursday 18th February and is a 'Run and Natter' session.
