The 17th September saw our first meeting after returning from holiday. This was an operating session at John James, Benfieldside. The layout originally built by John Wright and covered in MRJ's 38 and 57, is being given some TLC by John to allow it to be operated for many more years to come, including replacing the signals, which are showing their age.
The meeting was well supported with 11 members present, good progress was made and no problems found. Although much 'Critical Aclaim' was placed (or argued with) from various quarters, it made for a very enjoyable evening, the last to depart at 11:20 p.m.! I think everyone apreciated the amount of work John has lavished on the stock and locomotives and then created an entertaining operating pattern. Thank you John.
Our next meeting is on October 15th - when Bob Ellis is giving a presention and discussion on 'Railway Research' - details available from Mike Norris, contact information on the blue sheets.
