I had thought Nu-Cast to be defunct but it seems not quite! But it may well be closing soon, perhaps at the end of the year, hence this email to those that may wish to know this whilst the loco kits (only the locos) are still available.
I have found that they can still be obtained via Sherwood Models in Nottingham but they told me today that the Nu-Cast owner is expecting to soon cease the business because of retirement. The kits are batch built, mostly to order via Sherwood, and I understand that there will not be many more batches now.
The Sherwood Models website is currently degraded but by following the link http://www.sherwoodmodels.co.uk/osc/ind ... =2a&page=1 you do reach the Nu-Cast listings. You need to scroll down to the foot of the page, through webgarbage, to find the items.
They will do the kits without chassis, wheels (OO), motor and gears on request for those of us in P4 who don't want those items. (nb Gibson do many of the appropriate chassis frames in milled brass).
Sherwood seem very helpful so if you are interested in a Nu-Cast loco kit then I suggest you call them direct and discuss.
So another small supplier of quite long standing seems soon to fade out.
For information only. I have no connection with either firm other than as a customer.
