Re: Archers ceasing operation
Thanks for that. I had a look, but the rivet sheets are all double the price of when I last bought them (now $17.95), and Railtec apparently do rivet transfers now, though I haven't tried them. Has anyone?

I'll let you know when they arrive. Railtec don't have massive stock of their rivets, website currently quoting 7 for each of two types.

Thanks, Richard! Hopefully they'll adhere better than I could ever get Archer's to...

Re: Archers ceasing operation
What Archer's have announced is a temporary decision to accept new orders for the time being during their "inventory liquidation sale".
This doesn't seem to mean that they are closing down.
A simpler explanation could be that they are just in the process of rationalising unsold stock.
The announcement makes it clear that they are "TEMPORARILY not accepting orders at this time"
So maybe panic is not necessarily the appropriate response "at this time", as they put it.

If you read deeper into their website, you'll find that the owner is 76 now, and
wishes to enjoy his remaining healthy days without the worry of running a
business.

Re: Archers ceasing operation
You misunderstand Martin. The Archers made a definitive statement that they are retiring. The announcement you refer to simply says that due to unprecedented demand they are taking no more orders until they have cleared the sudden backlog. The liquidation sale is simply the disposal of stock prior to retirement.

Micromark do a similar product: https://www.micromark.com/HO-scale-deca ... ce-details
Disclaimer: I have no connection with Micromark and in fact they are not an outfit I do much business with. They seem to me to be pretty good at copying other people's ideas such as the line of cutting fixtures made by Northwest Short Line. But if Archer is bowing out, at least there is another supplier.
