Slater's cattle wagons

Slater's cattle wagons

Postby dexaco » Fri Mar 30, 2012 5:41 pm

It's been a while since I did any actual S4 modelling, but as I've promised to build a couple of cattle wagons for a new layout, I thought I'd seek the collective wisdom of the forum.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to which rocking w-irons to use for the Slater's cattle wagon? I've used rocking w-irons in the past, I just need to know which one to use for a Midland vehicle. Period circa 1905 if it makes a difference.

Thanks in anticipation,

Hi Derick,

Not rocking but sprung and definitely up to the job would be Bill Bedford's 1907 RCH type http://tinyurl.com/85y3ano

Further to my previous posting a couple of pics of the sprung W-irons on the Slater's MR cattle van.
