HKV brakegear

HKV brakegear

Postby Penrhos1920 » Thu Apr 21, 2011 9:41 am

I'm having difficulty finding a source of the brake gear components used on the HKV iron ore hoppers. I think I've got everything else I need to build one of these wagons based upon the 51L HJV kit; different Oleo buffers and axle boxes that are in the 51L range, and I will have to modify the body supports. I hope to be able to make up a reasonable size rake of these so I'd rather not have to scratch build the brake gear.

Thanks Mike, so did I until I had a look through the catalogue. Any ideas what it might be described as?

You could try stealing some of the bits from a Dave Bradwell etch for 21t hopper detailing.

Alternatively, doesn't someone supply an etch for adding the brakes to Slater's NER 20t hoppers?
Cheers,
