Details of and access to join on line  or access to our printed membership form will be found below.

Before making your application you may wish to read the Constitution and Rules.
NB. Existing Members please go to the Renewals page.

SUBSCRIPTIONS

Membership is renewable on 1st March each year at which time the annual subscription must be paid to the Membership Secretary.

New members joining on dates from 1st December to 30th September pay the full subscription which is valid until 1st March of the next full year.

Members joining on dates from 1st October to 30th November pay a reduced subscription which is valid until the following 1st March.

The rates for members outside the UK include a postal suplement to offset the higher postal charges involved.

DIRECT DEBITS

The only income received by the Society (apart from a small margin of sales from Stores) is that of subscriptions from members. Thus it is in the interest of the members that subscriptions are paid promptly on the 1st of March each year. Only in this way are you able to receive some of the benefits of membership, such as Society publications and exhibitions such as Scaleforum. The use of the Direct Debit system saves your having to remember when renewal becomes due and, should you forget, saves reminders being sent. Printing and posting reminders are wasteful use of Society funds. Furthermore, the direct debit system gives significant saving in time and cost compared with processing other methods of payment, such as cheques. Since you will need to pay your first subscription, together with the joining fee, by conventional means, the direct debit would take effect from your first renewal on the 1st of March of the year following that in which you joined. You are accordingly urged to apply for a Direct Debit Mandate - to do so please tick the relevant box in the final section of this form and a Direct Debit form will be sent to you. Alternatively you can print out the .pdf version of the form and enclose it with your membership application, saving extra effort for both of us. Please note that this facility is only available to members with bank accounts in the UK. Please be aware that there also a benefit to members since subscriptions paid in this manner currently qualify for a discount of £2.00 on the renewal subscription.

The details appearing on this page are valid until 28th February 2011.

It will help your committee to help you if you also fill out our new members questionnaire, it will be sent out in the new members pack or can be completed on line.

You can, however, if you prefer not to use 'on-line payment'  complete our application form, print it out and mail it with a cheque to the Membership secretary.

If you have a UK bank account please print out the Direct Debit form and send it in together with your membership application. NB We only do a direct debit run once a year at renewal time so we can't take the initial fee by this means. Members joining on line will be sent a Direct Debit form with the 'New members' pack.

If you have any queries please e-mail the Membership Secretary.

**Prospective Overseas members please note that payment must be drawn payable in £ Sterling (GBP) on a UK Bank. Foreign currency cheques cannot be accepted in view of the rates the Banks charge for the negotiation of such relatively small amounts. The most practical, and recommended, method for Overseas members is by use of a credit card.

When completed, please send the form, with your remittance or completed credit card details, to

Mr D Cockling,
Membership Secretary,
187 Painswick Road,
Gloucester, GL4 4AG,
United Kingdom.

Thank you for  joining the Scalefour Society, a membership from which you will hopefully gain much benefit.
