North East Finescale Group (NEFG)

The Group has representatives from the Scalefour Society, plus EM Gauge Society, 2mm Association, Gauge O Guild and Scale 7 Society.

Essentially, we are a loose group of about two dozen modellers with a common interest in finescale railway modelling, almost all being members of one or other of the national finescale societies. The range of interests is very wide so there is no concentration on any one area, but much is learnt by all via exchange of ideas and information between us. There is no group project per se but some of the members are involved with building 'Port Solway'.... NER/M&C circa 1905 in P4.... at the clubrooms of the Newcastle and District Model Railway Society.

We meet about every six weeks or so, at each others' homes, bringing models for discussion and running on our multi-gauge test track. We also provide demonstrator support for our local shows. The depth and breadth of the modelling talent within the group provides a valuable and easily accessible resource, especially for beginners. Experience of, or expertise in, finescale modelling techniques is definitely not necessary for membership. Our subs are a nominal £1 per year to cover postage costs etc.
