Scale Figures

When introduced these exquisite 4mm. scale figures set the standards for others to follow.
The original masters for these white metal castings were sculptured by Martin Feldwick who, after careful study of old photographs, has been able to convincingly capture some very life-like poses in typical 'period' attire. One of the striking aspects of the models is that they have the 'chunky' look of a real person, gone are the days of the 'matchstick' people.

Straight Brass Wire

Own up those modellers who have opened their latest loco kit and gazed with some trepidation at the coil of wire lurking at the bottom of the box. This is supplied to make straight (?) handrails. However, a far better solution is to supply wire in a more sensible form and here it is, lengths of straight brass wire. A large number of people who have already used this wire say they are finding so many uses for it that they wonder how they have managed without it in the past. It is available in four diameters and the following notes are a guide as to their application.
0.30mm. For use as handrails on Brake vans, coaches, etc. 0.45mm, The correct size for handrails on 4mm. scale locomotives and my 4mm scale handrail knobs are drilled to take this wire. 0.70mm. The correct size for hundrails on 7mm. scale locomotives and my 7mm. scale handrail knobs are drilled to take this wire 0.90mm. Suitable size for most pipework on 4mm scale locomotives.

Valve Gear Rivets

Precision turned steel tubular rivets suitable for fixing together valve gear and other small items. Being tubular the best way to retain components on them is by locating a spring loaded centre punch in the hole and to drive it home a couple of times. By adjusting the punch the amount of spread of the rivet can be controlled.

Baseboard Rockers

These items enable a mechanical movement to be transferred from the top of the baseboard to beneath it (or vtce versa). They come in an quick and easy-to-assemble kit with sufficient parts for two rockers. Comprising part plastic moulding and part brass the finished product requires a 7/16in. (11mm.) hole in the baseboard.

Bath Green Park

Over the past couple of years I have been assisting the Taunton Model Railway group with production of components for their scale model of BATH GREEN PARK - terminus of the Somerset & Dorset & Midland Railway. Of course the end result is the availability of yet more parts.

The first kit will make up into a 304mm long bridge similar to that used by the Midland Railway and typical of many similar bridges elsewhere. The actual bridge spanned the River Avon at the entrance to Bath Green Park Station - known as bridge 44.

The other major item to become available due to this co-operation is the overall roof for the same station. The resulting etched brass kit is now being made available to special order and comprises of no less than 8- 18" x 12" sheets making up into an overall roof some 46" x 18"

As a bonus, Graham Warburton who drew this item, filled any spare space on these frets with many other useful items comprising of the following;- S&D Gradient Boards, MR Mile Posts, Bath Station Name boards, Station front name board, Falling man tablet catcher, 80 Various Railway timetable boards, 24 Notice boards, 8 MR Platform Barrows, Station indicator finger boards, Train time finger boards, MR Gradient Arms, Set of parts to make up further bridges (42 & 43), 8 MR Signal Spandrel Brackets, and a complete set of windows for Bath Green Park Station. The complete kit includes a decorative etch for the Porte Cochere at the front of the station.

Whilst the kit depicts exactly that at Green Park there is no reason why it cannot be used in any freelance model requiring an overall roof - in fact many aspects of the design were used elsewhere.
